As a mum of two young children, going out on Saturday night is generally a thing of the past. However, last night my husband took me out for dinner, while my mother-in-law stayed home with my girls. It was so great to get out! We enjoyed a three course meal and a bottle of wine in a cool restaurant with a young crowd and great music from the 90’s, which bought back memories of our youth.

Here’s what I wore:

Top: Witchery silk tank
Jeans: J Brand Photo Ready Maria
Clutch: Witchery
Shoes: Valentino Rockstud pumps in patent poudre
Necklace: Sportsgirl

I almost wore a dress, but jeans are second nature to me and I love dressing them up with a special pair of shoes and accessories.

If you are on Instagram, I would love it if you would follow me @seekoutchic. I always post looks on Instagram first and I post images that don’t always make it to my blog. It’s also the main way I keep up to date with other bloggers, so I will definitely follow back if you are a blogger.

Hope you all had a wonderful Saturday night too! X

By now, my regular readers know that I am into shoes as much as the next woman, with a particular fixation for both lace-ups and statement heels. A new pair has arrived into my life, fulfilling both of these obsessions, introducing my new red-hot, lace-up heels. I can safely say, it was love at first sight with these beauties.

Now to share how I styled them. I decided to go with a simple white sleeveless blouse and denim, allowing the shoes to really be the hero of the outfit. And that is really what I mean about ‘statement shoes’, when the shoes are what your outfit is all about.

If you don’t have a pair of statement heels in your life, please go out and find some. They are a stylish way to make the simplest ensembles shine. X

I’m back! I took a little hiatus from my blog to enjoy Christmas and New Year with my family and friends, but I’m back at blogging and want to wish everyone a Happy New Year! I hope all of my readers have a happy, healthy and prosperous 2016!

Now, onto the look I am sharing today: a black tee, black denim and my leopard print pumps. You know I love an all black ensemble, and this is a simple look incorporating my black basics, with a statement shoe to add personality.

Top: Nude Lucy ‘Belle’ Fitted Tee
Jeans: J Brand Photo Ready Maria jeans
Shoes: Tony Bianco ‘Ajana’ in Leopard Print Pony
Clutch: Witchery

I wore this look for a casual Friday night dinner with my sisters. We had a great night chatting and laughing. I feel most comfortable in denim and a fitted tee, or a silk blouse, and a pair of heels, so this is an ideal look for me. Sometimes, the simplest items look the most stylish.

I’ve enjoyed my little break from blogging, it was nice to focus on enjoying Christmas with my family, but I am glad to be back and can’t wait to share more style insights from my world with you all. X

Today I’m wearing one of my favourite combinations, navy, white and tan. These colours compliment one another beautifully and, for me, this palette conjures images of the French Riviera.

Top: Zara
Jeans: ASOS PETITE Ridley High Waist Ultra Skinny
Shoes: Tony Bianco ‘Ambrose’ in navy lizard nubuck
Bag: Oroton

I’ve had all of these items for some time. The timeless tones and designs of each make them classic staples in my wardrobe. Try some navy, white and tan, I know you’ll love it as much as I do. X

This season, I seem to have an obsession with double denim. I think it’s because it adds a little edge to my style, which isn’t usually particularly edgy. I published three double denim posts a while back, mixing denim shirts with jeans. Today’s look is working a denim shirt with a denim skirt, and I am loving it!

Now that summer has arrived, I’m looking forward to doing more double denim with shorts and skirts. Stay tuned for more looks like these on soon. X

Yesterday, I wore this cute black brodiery top with some destroyed denim and lace-up sandals. I was running errands with my girls and it was a very warm day, this look seemed to have just the right mix of comfort and style.

For those of us obsessed with wearing black, I think this this top and these sandals are a fresh, feminine way to wear black in summer. X

On Friday, I was wearing my all-time favourite combination, white, denim and nude accessories. For classic and effortless casual style, you cannot go past a white silk shirt paired with good quality denim.

In spring and summer, white and denim is pretty much my uniform (as you may have noticed). When spending more on quality items, it is always a good idea to stick to a colour palette (and neutrals) that you love, so that you can mix and match pieces.

Today is the first day of summer in Australia. I am looking forward to sharing my summer style with you all over the next few months. X
